Job Overview Convert production drawings provided by the engineering staff into shop drawings. Design and development of simple food processing equipment and material handling systems utilizing SolidWorks, and the successful project management, from design through fabrication, of these systems. Detailed and accurate cost estimating of equipment and systems utilizing spreadsheet-based costing models. The Mechanical Drafter is responsible for the assembly of accurate bill of materials, and final materials reporting.

Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities and duties of this job include:
• Analyze technical data, designs, or preliminary specifications.
• Communicate technical information.
• Use computer aided drafting or design software for design, drafting, modeling, or other engineering tasks.
• Confer with engineering, technical or manufacturing personnel.
• Consult with customers concerning needs.
• Draw prototype or fabrication plans to scale.
• Examine engineering documents for completeness or accuracy.
• Follow manufacturing methods and techniques.
• Inspect manufactured products.
• Prepare technical reports or related documents.
• Understand engineering data and reports.
• Understand technical operating or service manuals.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards.
• Knowledge of USDA manufacturing standards.
• Use of spreadsheet software.
• Work as a team member.

Qualifications
• Associate degree in Mechanical Drafting or similar
• Proficient use of Autocad, and/or Solidworks
• Use of mathematics to solve problems
